About Mike

Mike McCann has more than 30 years of experience in the studio and on location, shooting everything from glamour photos for International Hair... to tiny stents for Boston Scientific... to industrial photos and video for Ames Construction. He’s efficient, collaborative and easy to work with.

Synergy between the art director and the photographer creates the best photos. Mike listens to client input up-front and throughout the process while also offering creative ideas to make art that elevates products and services.

PROCESS

Mike shoots full frame 35 and medium format digital using high-end Phase One and Canon equipment. He delivers 1080 HD video clips as well as still images. The Phase One back mounts on the back of the Hasselblad or on the 4x5 camera for perspective control. The quality is amazing. Boston Scientific reproduced an image he took of an operating suite that was 8 x 16 feet @ 300 DPI for a trade show booth. 

Lighting is the key to good photography. Mike has a range of specialty lighting equipment to give you the perfect look. He has used his lighting expertise for everything from large stainless brewing tanks for GEA Process Engineering to heart valves for Medtronic. He’s skilled at painting with light to illuminate areas that can’t be highlighted with conventional lighting, or simply to give you a unique look.

Optics are critical for quality digital capture. Mike chooses the highest quality digital lenses—from Fisheye to telephoto to give you the best possible image.

Mike offers quality video clips along with still photos, a cost-effective solution that provides clients two types of imagery in one shoot.
